A GOLDEN GLOBE FOR THE GOLDEN
GIRL
Only
90 people belong to the Foreign Press Association and not one of
them seems to be a journalist covering movies full-time. Yet Charlize
Theron, who just won the group's Golden Globe for her powerhouse
performance in "Monster," takes these virtually anonymous
scribes seriously, judging from the picture at left. Indeed, Hollywood's
major players clearly think these nobodys are important; otherwise,
the giants of the industry--from Jack Nicholson to Nicole Kidman
and Tom Cruise and his mom would not have shown up for the group's
champagne-drenched awards ceremony. And since Golden Globe winners
tend to triumph on Oscar night, you might want to scan the list
below. Especially if you plan to bet in the office Oscar Derby.
As for us, our money is definitely on Charlize.
